Disneyland

We set off on an adventure with our buddies and our first stop was...DISNEYLAND. I hadn't been there in years (see pictures below) so I was just as excited as I'd been the first time.

We're all set for a fun day!

At the Mickey flowers

It was slightly overcast in the morning, and there weren't too many people around. So we were able to get some of the big rides done like Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones, and Pirates of the Caribbean. (They had some fun hats to try on at the end of the ride)

Oh, we also hit The Haunted Mansion...

But by the afternoon, the sun was shining, people were out and about, and we waited in lines.
Here we are waiting for Space Mountain.

After that, we went on the Buzz Lightyear ride. That one is really fun and you can compete with the other person you're riding with for the high score. I don't remember our scores exactly, but I totally won.

Star Tours was next on our list. I remembered that I really liked that one, but for some reason this time around, it made everyone pretty nauseous after.

They had fun hats to try on after this ride, too. Here I am wearing the Chewbacca model.

We had to get a picture here...

And now for my favorite place of all...Sleeping Beauty's Castle!

Ready for a blast from the past?

*BAM*

...and fast forward a few years:

I found my (somewhat stunned) Knight in Shining Armor:

It looked so fun, I had to try.

Next, it was on to the Sword in the Stone, where I had to try my muscles at it.

Fail.

Oh, well. If we couldn't get the sword, at least we got a cute picture!

Then on to my Mom's favorite; It's a Small World, where we smiled and had a good time looking at all the dolls.

...some of us didn't have as much fun...

Next we got some Goofy pictures:

And that nice fellow even let us sit in his car:

At Mickey's House:

PHOTOBOMB!

*Oh oh! Pause in the pictures for a minute. We went to Disneyland the day before my Birthday, so we figured we'd just celebrate my Birthday anyways. Close enough. You see that nice shiny button I'm wearing?  It says "Happy Birthday!" and they wrote my name on it. EVERYONE (Ride workers, food vendors, strangers passing on the street) wished me a Happy Birthday. It was so cool! Okay, back on to the pictures...

Still at Mickey's house:

And on to Minnie's house...

...where Ty was feeling Fabulous.

It was a good day in ToonTown

We finished up our amazing day at Disneyland with Fireworks. Did you know that you can get on the Storybook ride (a boat that takes you through some miniature replicas of fun places in Disney stories) and they pause the boat while the fireworks are going? Well, now you know. And that is precisely what we did.

What a wonderful day. I love Disneyland!

August Happenings

So I had a nice little laugh as I was re-reading my goals. Um, the triathlon is a no-go. I'm trying just to fit exercise in...at least three days a week. Some days... I'm still working on my book, but I don't know that it will be done in the time frame that I want it to be; it needs A LOT of work. Blogging and pictures? Well, the answer is quite obvious.

*sigh*

But quite a few things have happened in August. Let me tell you about them.

First of all, I was able to go to the Manti Temple with my Mom for my cousin's wedding.

I always love spending time with my Mom; we had fun.

The very next night, my spectacular friend, Michelle, invited me to go with her to WICKED.

I simply can't say how much I LOVED this musical. And BTW, we had rockin' seats. Ones where we could actually see facial expressions. Yeah, it was awesome...and worth every penny.

But just so you don't think that I had all the fun, Ty escaped for a weekend trip with his buddies to the Uintah Mountains.

They did some fishing.

This next picture says so much about my husband...and I absolutely love it.

And that pretty much concludes the first little part of August. Stay tuned for the end of August! We had some good times!
